DESCRIPTION:8/10/19  10-6    8/11/19  10-5 \nThe Mystic Outdoor Art Festival is the oldest of its kind in the Northeast region\, and draws more than 85\,000 people from around New England and beyond during this two day event. As a juried art show\, the Art Festival serves an audience of discriminating art enthusiasts\, as well as weekend visitors and residents from surrounding communities including Groton\, New London\, Waterford\, and southern Rhode Island. \nHosted by the Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce\, the Mystic Outdoor Art Festival will be celebrating its 62nd year. The festival showcases over 230 artists\, with more than two miles of arts and crafts including oils\, watercolors\, photographs\, pastels\, sculpture\, woodwork\, comics\, acrylics\, and more. The Mystic Outdoor Art Festival (MOAF) is free of charge to visitors\, and features activities and artwork for all ages to enjoy\, including a Children’s Art Park.

The show is nationally recognized from small beginnings in 1952 that to date attracts over 700 applications every year from artists around the country representing 13 fine art and contemporary craft mediums. 275 artists and 250\,000 tourists and locals attend the show that spans nearly 15 blocks along the Atlantic Ocean at the Virginia Beach oceanfront from 20th to 36th Streets. SUMMARY:Stockley Gardens Arts Festival - Norfolk\, VA
DESCRIPTION:Building community takes art. Music. Food. Laughter. A willingness to work together. Most of all\, it takes vision. \nSince 1984\, Hope House Foundation has been the vision behind the Stockley Gardens Arts Festival. Now\, the free event is a community tradition proudly presented by Towne Bank\, and drawing more than 50\,000 visitors annually. \nTwice a year\, on the third full weekend in May and October\, people flock to Stockley Gardens in Norfolk’s historic Ghent neighborhood to browse through jewelry\, pottery\, paintings\, and other works of art by over 130 artists. The park is full of strollers\, dogs and tantalizing smells. Music drifts from the stage. Friends stop to chat. Throughout the weekend\, there is a feeling of hope. \nThe money raised during these events helps pay for housing\, transportation\, medical care\, and more for people with developmental disabilities. But the events themselves benefit the entire community. \nEach year\, a nationally recognized artist or curator judges the artists\, who compete for cash prizes. There is also an Emerging Artist Competition\, also with cash prizes\, for college and high school students\, as well as recent graduates. Award winners are announced during the Artists’ Reception\, which is held Saturday evening on the Main Stage. \nWe’re proud to give the community one of the best outdoor arts festivals in the area. In fact\, the Stockley Gardens Arts Festival has been voted one of the top two art festivals in eastern Virginia by Virginia Living Magazine readers six years in a row\, so don’t miss the upcoming Stockley Gardens Arts Festival.
